Social anxiety can leave us rehearsing what to say, worrying about how we’re coming across, or replaying conversations afterward. Even when we want connection, fear of judgment can make it difficult to join in.

This six-week group uses play and improvisation to explore connecting with less self-consciousness and more freedom. Through accessible improv games, creative exercises, and reflection, we’ll practice taking small risks, speaking up and taking up space, responding without a script, and shifting attention from monitoring ourselves toward shared experiences of spontaneity.

The group invites you to:

  • Practice joining in and allowing yourself to be seen

  • Explore fears of judgment, overthinking, and the inner critic

  • Build comfort with pauses, mistakes, and not knowing what to say

  • Free up your mind and body to be more spontaneous and present

  • Bring greater flexibility and self-trust into everyday interactions

No improv or performance experience is necessary. You don’t need to be funny, outgoing, or quick on your feet. This is a supportive space to pass, set boundaries, and take manageable steps toward connection in ways that feel authentic to you. Come as you are, anxiety included.

Cigna insurance is accepted, and for those out of network, billing can be submitted on your behalf toward possible reimbursement.  Contact us if you would like to use your Cigna insurance for this group.

Our groups are inclusive spaces. Participation is a commitment to welcoming and valuing the unique contributions fellow group members bring in terms of their life experience, age, education, culture, ethnicity, race, sex, gender identity and expression, religion, disability, sexual orientation, and beliefs.
