Sean Paul Carleton

LCAT (he/him)

Hi, I’m Sean Paul Carleton and I’m passionate about creating therapeutic spaces where creativity and healing intersect. As a licensed creative arts therapist and registered drama therapist, I bring a unique blend of therapeutic expertise and innovative approaches to my work. Currently, I serve as the Office of Behavioral Health Simulation Program Manager  at a large public healthcare institution where I combine my love for creative arts therapy with cutting-edge simulation-based training programs.

I’ve had the privilege of working with people across the lifespan, with a particular focus on emerging adults through older adults. Throughout my career, I’ve worked alongside individuals on the autism spectrum, neurodivergent individuals, and those living with Severe and Persistent Mental Illness (SPMI). What drives me is creating a therapeutic space that feels compassionate, creative, and deeply attuned to your unique needs and experiences.

I believe deeply in connecting the body and mind through diverse interventions, and I see our work together as a co-created journey of discovery that supports your resilience and meaningful change. My approach centers on making meaning together—I foster a space filled with curiosity, rehearsal, and yes, even joy. I’ve learned that the thoughtful use of humor and joy is crucial in therapy; it transforms the therapeutic process into something you actually want to engage with and might even find enjoyable.

I love using creative interventions like drama, storytelling, and metaphor to help you express yourself in new ways, access resources you might not have known you had, and discover pathways forward that truly align with your personal goals. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, personality disorders, depression, or relationship challenges, I’m here to explore alongside you.

I don’t believe therapy is about me having all the answers—it’s about us exploring and making discoveries together. My goal is to ensure you feel both empowered and supported throughout our journey, as we work together to explore unconscious patterns and deepen your understanding of yourself.
