Robyn Chao Phan
LCAT-LP (she/they)
As a drama therapist, I am curious about the ways in which we observe and take on a variety of roles throughout our lives. Therapy can be a way to explore these roles and their impacts, with you as the storyteller.
My work focuses on the unique lived experiences brought on by intersecting identities. I use trauma-informed and harm-reduction frameworks to consider how your experience is shaped by both individual and systemic forces. In our work together, we will also explore ways in which you can create and lead yourself through meaningful change. As a creative arts therapist, I am interested in exploring modes of expression and communication that go beyond the limits of talk. We can use the tools of stories, embodiment, imagery, roles, and metaphors to further examine your experiences.
I have supported adolescents and adults around the LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent experiences, and have also presented on clinical work with Third-Culture Kids (TCKs). I am dedicated to crafting a collaborative therapeutic alliance, where the work is a mutual process that contributes to growth (whatever that looks like for you!). I'm curious, passionate about radical change and justice, and can laugh at almost everything, including myself.
